The answer is no, but I'm doing it anyways 'cause I'm an auto-contrarian. Also, in light of the fact that I've never seen a draft of "A Colossal Waste of Time: the Matt Dove Story," published or otherwise, I'm assuming that Jed just doesn't have enough material anymore, what with us living on opposite coasts and all. Well Jed, don't worry, your opus can now continue on it's long and arduous journey to completion.
Actually, I've been thinking about Jed the past few days while trying to grind out a paper on China's westward expansion and their "re-centralization" of ethnic minorities, specifically with regards to Tibet. I remember him once telling me that any attempt to adopt any part of another culture, regardless of how well meaning, is actually an act of violent assimilation. I must say though, I could violently assimilate a steaming bowl of mapo doufu right about now without even one iota of existential guilt.
